Red Hat Summit 2026: Microsoft and Red Hat Reveal Production AI Breakthrough with Banco Bradesco on Azure Red Hat OpenShift
Red Hat Summit 2026: Banco Bradesco Powers 200+ AI Initiatives in Production on Azure Red Hat OpenShift
LAS VEGAS — At the Red Hat Summit 2026, Microsoft and Red Hat today announced that Banco Bradesco, one of Latin America's largest financial institutions, has moved over 200 AI initiatives from pilot to full production on Azure Red Hat OpenShift. This breakthrough marks a critical milestone for enterprise AI, demonstrating that consistent governance, security, and scale are achievable on a jointly supported platform.

“Banco Bradesco’s massive deployment proves that production AI at scale is no longer a future vision—it’s happening now,” said Julia Chen, Vice President of Azure Hybrid & Multi-Cloud at Microsoft. “By unifying governance across hundreds of AI workloads, they are setting the benchmark for financial services.”
The announcement came during the keynote at Red Hat Summit 2026, attended by over 10,000 IT leaders and developers.
Platform Modernization Award Highlights
Microsoft received the Red Hat Ecosystem Innovation Award for Platform Modernization – Partner of the Year for 2026, along with an honorable mention for North American Hybrid Cloud Everywhere. These awards recognize partners whose collaboration with Red Hat delivers measurable customer outcomes through open, enterprise-grade platforms.
“The award underscores how our deep integration with Microsoft Azure enables customers to operationalize AI without compromising on security or compliance,” said Mark Thompson, Red Hat’s Vice President of Global Partner Ecosystems.
Banco Bradesco: From Pilots to Production AI
Operating at massive scale under strict regulatory requirements, Banco Bradesco has built its enterprise AI platform on Azure Red Hat OpenShift. The platform unifies governance across more than 200 AI initiatives, integrating with Azure Active Directory, Azure Policy, and Azure Security Center.
“We moved beyond experimentation because Azure Red Hat OpenShift provides the consistent identity, security, and policy framework we need for production AI,” said Carlos Mendes, CIO of Banco Bradesco. “This is not a proof of concept—it’s our core infrastructure for innovation.”

Background: The Shift to Production AI
As organizations progress from AI pilots to production systems, the challenge shifts from building models to operating them consistently. Microsoft and Red Hat have collaborated for years to integrate Azure services with OpenShift, offering a unified platform for containerized applications and AI workloads.
The partnership has been recognized at previous Red Hat Summits, but the 2026 event marks the first time a financial institution has publicly detailed production AI at this scale on Azure Red Hat OpenShift.
What This Means for Enterprise AI
Banco Bradesco’s success demonstrates that production AI can be deployed with enterprise-grade governance, security, and scale — key requirements for regulated industries like banking, healthcare, and government. Azure Red Hat OpenShift provides a consistent control plane across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, enabling IT teams to manage AI models alongside traditional applications.
“The era of separate AI pilots is over,” said Chen. “Enterprises now demand a single platform for all workloads, and Azure Red Hat OpenShift delivers that.”
Industry analysts expect other large enterprises to follow Banco Bradesco’s lead, accelerating the move from AI experimentation to production reality.
